Description:

This is the premiere live recording of a work by Jesper Nudin, a representative of the contemporary Swedish music scene, created in collaboration with Martin Frest and Esa-Pekka Salonen! In the Swedish music scene, composers born in the 1970s, such as Alvette Schneltzel, who created "The Stranger in Burbank" (BIS SA-2483), have been attracting attention for their music, which has a strong emotional appeal with rock, improvised music, and folk music genres in its background. Jesper Nudin is one such composer. In addition to works for Nordic ensembles such as "Roster: trilogy for orchestra" (2015), premiered by the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, and "Visual exfor- In 2010, he received the award from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music for his "originality and indefatigable curiosity, and for being a sonic wizard who explores and expands the acoustic space.Nudin's "Emerging from Currents and Waves" is the result of a collaboration between the brilliant clarinetist Martin Frest (Mattin Frost) and conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen. The emergence of social media, virtual reality, and AI are changing not only our culture, but society as a whole. ...... In the midst of these changes, we must ask ourselves how we can harness the power of new technologies in our art, artistic expression, and practice. How can we harness the power of new technologies for art and artistic expression and practice? ...... Written for large orchestra, solo clarinet, conductor and live electronics, the work also used real-time visual effects in concert. It is composed in three parts, with "Currents" (dedicated to Salonen) and "Waves" (dedicated to Frest) interspersed with "Emerging" (dedicated to Frest). In the "Emerging" section of the "Clarinet Concerto," the composer designed an interactive musical tool called the "gestrument" ("gesture instrument"), which the clarinetist and the conductor are asked to "play. The premiere, which took place on August 31, 2018 at Stockholm's Baerwald Hall, was attended by Martin Antiphon, who collaborated with Kaija Saariaho and her colleagues in their concert as IRCAM's sound manager, and composer Sebastian Rivas. The technical team of Martin Antiphon and composer Sebastian Rivas, who worked with Kaya Saariaho and his colleagues as sound managers at IRCAM, participated in the premiere. The premiere explored the question of whether technology, with its seemingly endless possibilities, can also be used as a bridge to tradition. King International
