Christiane Imler sings songs by Schumann, Franz, and Liszt on poems by Heine! Christian Imler, a baritone singer who often appears in the Bach Collegium Japan, has recorded songs on poems by Heinrich Heine. Heine was a German poet born in Dusseldorf in 1797 and died in Paris in 1856. Heine wrote many poems during his lifetime, and his works have a unique richness and power, and great composers such as Brahms, Franz, Liszt, Mendelssohn, Schubert, Schumann, and Wolf were fascinated by his poems. This disc features 23 songs from Schumann's Leaderkreis, 23 from Franz's works, and 5 from Liszt's works.Christiane Imler studied at the London Guildhall School of Music and since winning the Nadia and Lily Boulanger Competition in 2001, she has performed as a soloist with major orchestras and conductors around the world.
