The new album by Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, led by Alec Aounsworth, is now available. New Fragility, their sixth album in nearly four years, sings about the new vulnerabilities of the modern age. New Fragility confronts many contemporary ills. 'It may be quite personal. But I think all of us, especially here in America, are already experiencing it. The title track, named after David Foster Wallace's short story "Forever Overheard," is about what happens immediately after the end of a long relationship and what is discovered in the aftermath. and what was discovered shortly afterwards. The album features some of Ounsworth's strongest vocals to date; for over 15 years, his voice has remained one of the most distinctive voices on the scene, and it has never been cleaner or calmer. New Fragility will be released on February 12, 2021 through CYHSY/Secretly Distribution. The album was produced by Alec Ounsworth, with additional production by Will Johnson; recorded in Austin, Texas by Britton Beisenherz and mixed in New Jersey by John Agnello; mastered by Greg Calbi mastered the album.Clap Your Hands Say Yeah was formed in 2005 and is based in Philadelphia, PA. In 2005, the band released its debut album, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, which was described by NPR as "one of the 50 most important albums of the last decade. Described by NPR as "one of the 50 most important albums of the last decade," the album was released completely independently, without a label, and was a huge word-of-mouth hit. In 2007, the band released their second album, "Some Loud Thunder. Although this album was also completely self-released, it reached No. 47 on the U.S. album chart. The band has since independently released their third album, Hysterical, in 2011, their fourth album, Only Run, in 2014, and their fifth album, The Tourist, in 2017, without being affiliated with a label.
