Description:
Finland's up-and-coming pianist Anna Kuvaja makes her debut! This is the debut album by Finnish pianist Anna Kuvaja (1979-). Kuvaja's music is "impressionistic and evocative sound paintings" (Kuvaja) composed around the same time as Sibelius's sound poems "Luon Notar" and "Okeanis" (Goddess of the Ocean). Ravel's "Water Play," with a passage from Henri de Regnier's poem "The God of Rivers Laughing Tickled by Water ......" accompanying the score. Twelve variations on a sad Russian song by Tomas Büström, one of the few composers of Finnish Classicism who was also a soldier. One of Schubert's last sonatas, in A major, ends with the "Rondo" from "Songs that Depress the Heart. The title of this album is "Dwelling on the River (of the River)" quoted by Ravel, and Anna has put together a recital format of works that she says "feel most natural to her as a musician.＜Anna Kuvaja (1979-) is a Finnish pianist. Studied at the music schools in Kuhmo and Espoo and at the Helsinki Conservatory of Music, and since 1999 at the Sibelius Academy with Tuija Hakkila, Heini Karkkainen, and Liisa Pohjola. studied with Henri Barda and Isabelle Dubuis at the Conservatoire de Paris in spring 2003. 2005, In 2005, she gave a diploma recital at the Sibelius Academy, where she received the highest diploma.
