Another new release from one of the most promising Italian releases on ECM. Pianist Stefano Battaglia, who made his ECM debut in 2005 with the album "Raccolto," presents his second album, a tribute to Pier Paolo Pasolini, one of the most famous European film directors and poets of the 20th century as well as Italy. This 2-CD set is inspired by Pasolini's 1964 film "The Miracle on the Hill" and his 1970 film "The Decameron". CD1 offers melodically rich and strong solos, while CD2 is full of stimulating improvisations.
