The debut album by Sara Kinsley, the much talked about singer-songwriter whose songs have been played over 80 million times in 181 countries before her major label debut. Born in California, raised in Connecticut, moved to Singapore with her family during middle school, and returned to New York to attend Columbia University, this perfectly rare left-field pop singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist (Sarah is a piano, synth, guitar, ondes martenot, glass bowls, and even plays violin on her records) makes her debut on Verve Forecast. Sarah studied music in college and was generating a lot of positive noise and buzz online long before she signed a record deal. Everything she was releasing was self-produced, self-written, and self-performed. Sarah had a habit of documenting her process, and in response to the misconception that "women don't produce music," she recorded the sounds of banging desks, opening doors, turning on lights, banging mattresses, and popping wine glasses, which were uploaded, and pieced them together to form the intro to the preceding EP song "Over + Under" The video captured the imagination of a young audience, who have been enthusiastically following her every move ever since. The EP was co-produced with Grammy Award-winning producer John Congleton (Angel Olsen, Saint Vincent, Sharon Van Etten), the first time he has collaborated with another producer. This is the first time he has collaborated with other producers.
