Rudmil Angelov plays Friedman & Michalowski! Bulgarian-born master Chopin player Rudomir Angelov makes his first appearance on NIFC, the independent label of the Polish National Chopin Institute! This ambitious album is a collection of "mazurkas" composed exclusively by Friedman and Michalowski, two Polish virtuosos who were active as concert pianists and composers. Since Chopin, the mazurka has been one of the most important categories of Polish cultural identity, and many works were produced during the 19th and 20th centuries. The mazurkas by Aleksander Michalowski, who was renowned as an excellent interpreter of Chopin, and Ignatz Friedman (Ignatz Friedman), one of the extraordinary virtuosos of the time, (perhaps all) are included in order of work number, a collection of sentimental and noble mazurkas that colored the salons of the time, The mazurkas are reproduced with Angelov's aesthetic sense. Rudmil Angelov was born in Varna, Bulgaria in 1961 and graduated from the Vladigerov State Music Academy in Sofia.He has won prizes at numerous international competitions, including the International Chopin Piano Competition (1985). Recognized as one of the greatest contemporary interpreters of Chopin, his recording of Chopin's Rondo & Variations (Gega New) was awarded the "Grand Prix du Disque Frederic Chopin" by the NIFC, and he is a frequent participant in the NIFC's "Chopin and His European Music Festival" and has been invited as a juror to the 2010, 2015, and 2021 International Chopin Piano Competitions.
