Description:
This is a collection of works by two leading modern Hungarian composers. Roja, an outstanding film music composer who was nominated for 17 Academy Awards and won three of them, wrote "Sonata for Solo Violin" near the end of his life and "Sonata for Two Violins" in his 20s. In parallel with his film music, Roja continued to write neoclassical-style classical works using elements of Hungarian folk music. Kodaly's "Duet for Violin and Cello" is considered a masterpiece of the genre, with both cello and violin competing for melody and excitement. Recorded in Poland in 2011, performed by Simon Kuszczowiec (violin) and others. (C)RS
