Description:
This is a collection of works mainly for piano by Tadeusz Mayerski (1888-1963), a composer/pianist born in Lwów, Poland (now Lviv, Ukraine). All of his works are full of romantic sensibility, but at the same time incorporate modern writing techniques, which can be clearly understood by listening to the "Concerto Poem" at the beginning of this album. Although the work was carefully revised over a period of about 10 years, it has unfortunately been forgotten since its premiere in 1957 without being published. The piano player Michał Drewnowski discovered the score and was instantly fascinated, so he asked his friend Madei to revise it and restore it to a playable score. (C)RS
