Cape Town-based songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Yellow House (real name: Emile van Dango), who recently collaborated with Seattle electronic duo ODESZA on the 2023 EP "Flaws In Our Design," has released his latest album on ODESZA's Foreign Family label, "Yellow House"! van Dango), a Cape Town-based songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, has released his debut album "Psalms of Yellow House" on ODESZA's Foreign Family Collective label! The idea for this album, consisting of eight songs, began when Emile was living in a cottage tucked away in the mountains of South Africa. Far from society and isolated, he had no choice but to confront his innermost feelings. Songs such as "Trouble Always Finds Me," "Leave the City," and "Comedown King" were born during this period of manic depression and despair, which was also compounded by his battle with drug addiction. The introspective lyrics blend with pulsating drum machine beats and synth pad minor tones, and his soft, lush vocals stand out even more. He turned to music and through his songwriting, he confronted painful childhood experiences, strained relationships, and worked on breaking his addictions. With the conclusion of his battle with his demons and a farewell to his former self, Emile enters a new era with "Psalms of Yellow House".
