NewDad is a four-piece band with an impressive influence of 90's indie rock sound that has been attracting attention from early-earning indie rock listeners around the world. Analog copies will be released at the same time! Another exciting new band from Ireland has arrived on the scene. After gaining the attention of early-earning indie rock listeners with their self-produced "WAVES" EP in 2021 and "BANSHEE" EP the following year, the four-piece indie rock band from Galway is finally releasing their full-length album. Formed by frontman vocalist/guitarist Julie Dawson, along with school friends Aindle O'Beim on bass and Fiacra Parslow on drums, guitarist Sean O'Dowd joined in early 2020, and in 2022 Cara Joshi will replace Aindlen Their main attraction is their dark and melodic guitar sound, which is influenced by Pixies, The Cure, Slowdive, and shoegaze bands of the 90's, and frontman Julie's lyrical world that depicts her emotional feelings. Through the 11 songs on their major label debut full-length album "MADRA" (Gaelic for "dog"), which will be released in January 2024, Julie traces a musical adventure of self-exploration, self-mutilation and self-reflection, and the album also includes songs about bullying ("Where I Go") and the effects of drugs/depression ("Where I Go"). The album features songs that address themes of bullying ("Where I Go"), drug influence/depression ("Madra," "Let Go"), destruction ("Change My Mind," "White Ribbons"), co-dependence ("Nosebleed"), and resistance ("Nightmares").Produced by the band's longtime collaborator Chris Ryan, the album was recorded at Rockfield Studios, a historic studio in England that has been the subject of a documentary film, with additional recording sessions at RAK Studios in London. Additional recording sessions were conducted at RAK Studios in London. The album was mixed by Alan Moulder, who has produced many masterpieces of the grunge sound since the 1990s. The first single from the album, "Angel," features lyrics inspired by Julie's character in the TV drama "Euphoria," a grunge-tinged sound, swirling guitars and a haunting bass line. Julie's heavy, dark, and introspective songwriting, her whispering vocals, and the nostalgic yet fresh shoegaze sound of the album "MADRA" are sure to make NewDad one of the hottest new bands on the UK/Irish indie rock scene this year. The album is sure to bring people together and make the band a force to be reckoned with. The album is a dark, yet sparkling guitar sound with melodies that seem to shine through the darkness. The time has come for NewDad, the hottest indie rock band of 2024, to go out into the world.
