Since then, they have continued to challenge the times, showing musical breakthroughs not bound by Britpop, and are the pride of a timeless British rock act: Blur. With their unique British sense of humor, quirky pop, and stylish artistry, they are the driving force behind the Britpop movement and one of the leading bands of the British rock scene. In July this year, they released their latest studio album "THE BALLAD OF DARREN," their first in about eight years, and immediately following the release, they performed in Japan as the headliners of Summer Sonic in August, showing their presence and fullness to the scene once again.The band's second studio album, "MODERN LIFE IS RUBBISH", released in 1993, is now available as a 2-CD orange analog set to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its release! In the UK, it will be released on the same day as part of "National Album Day" on October 14, but in Japan, it will be released on October 27 for general distribution. This "MODERN LIFE IS RUBBISH" is the band's second album, following their shocking debut album "LEISURE" in 1991. While the grunge movement was sweeping the world, this second album boldly put "Britishness" at the forefront, and with the refracted dignity of brash Britishness, established a unique personality in the music scene of the 1990s. It is considered to be one of the most important albums of this era, as Blur continued to revolutionize the sound of British popular music. The album features singles such as "For Tomorrow" and "Chemical World," as well as tracks such as "Advert" and "Villa Rosie," which were also performed at Summer Sonic 2023.
