He initially worked in electronic music and rock, but has been active since around 2005, establishing a minimalist style.Emelianichev and Igorina's recording of "Jazz" for violin and piano attracted worldwide attention. Born in Ukraine, he was greatly shocked by the current war and composed "Prayer for Peace" for string orchestra, reminiscent of Barber's "Adagio for Strings," at the end of February 2022, right after the invasion. The recording includes a performance by the premiere group and a string quartet version. The Latin poem "I have built a monument" by Horatius and "Psalm 83," inspired by the Znameni chant of the Russian Orthodox Church, are also moving. It conveys as a quiet anger what Russian artists feel about the current war. (King International)
