Composed at a turning point in the traditional Austrian and German Lieder, this groundbreaking collection of Schoenberg's songs is full of passion and beauty. They are created with the desire to express in music transcendent states such as love, longing, and death. The "Book of Imaginary Gardens," Op. 15, in particular, is a highly artistic song cycle that makes a significant contribution to the field of literature. These 15 short songs by a doomed love story are atonal and superficially break from tradition, but they have their roots in Romanticism and shine with playful harmony and language. Sung by soprano Jasmine Lowe, who has built a wide repertoire, the piece was highlighted at the 2018 Trentino Music Festival in Italy and is currently attracting international attention and activity.
