Description:
Berlin-based pianist Kenji Miura. This is his long-awaited second album. An all-German program featuring Beethoven, Schumann, and Brahms! A letter of sound from Germany, his hometown of choice. Kenji Miura's long-awaited second album "Heimat/Hometown" is an all-German program. Heimat means "hometown" in German. Kenji Miura, who was born in Japan and has lived in four countries (the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and Germany), delves into the concept of "hometown" through music. The "heimat" that Miura questions is not merely a geographical matter, but a place in one's heart that one chooses through various encounters in the course of one's life. Miura says that living in Germany and becoming a father changed his awareness of the country, and he rediscovered his love for German music. Miura's unique musical world is here, where he learned music in Germany, continued his musical activities, and added his personal viewpoint to the mix. Included in this album are works by iconic German-born composers.Through his music, Miura himself expresses how he has been dealing with "Heimet". The main program includes Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 23 in F minor "Passion," Schumann's "Children's Scenes," and Brahms' late masterpiece "Seven Fantasias. The recordings were made at Teldex Studios, a renowned studio in Berlin with a long tradition and history. Miura says that German music "contains powerful, intimate emotions that shake the depths of the heart. Beethoven's "Passion" is filled with powerful exploration and intense emotion. In Schumann's "Children's Scenes," the world is reconsidered from the perspective of a parent watching over a beloved child, adding a delicate tenderness and warmth to the work. Brahms' "Seven Fantasias" leads the listener on a journey into the question, "What is Heimat? Warner Music Japan
