Duran Duran is at the forefront of the "Second British Invasion" music movement that swept the world in the early 1980s. With their model-like looks and catchy melodies, their singles and albums were mega hits not only in their home country of the United Kingdom, but also in the United States, Japan, and Asia. Duran Duran debuted with the single "Planet Earth" in February 1981, and their debut album "Duran Duran" was released in June of the same year, reaching No. 3 in the U.K. album charts. Duran Duran's debut album, "Duran Duran," was a success, ranking in the top three in the U.K. album charts. In April 1982, Duran Duran made their first tour of Japan, and in November of the same year, their second album "Rio" was released, which became a worldwide hit and made them a popular band. During their UK tour following the release of the album, the concert in Glasgow on October 31 was recorded and broadcast as a BBC radio program for promotional purposes.This release is based on the sound recordings used for that broadcast and includes the complete concert, including cover numbers and encores. This is a wonderful live album that captures Duran Duran at the peak of their early years, overwhelming the audience with a stage performance that is hard to believe that they were newcomers, as they had six hit singles and two hit albums in their second year of debut. Includes "Reflex" from the 1984 tour as a bonus track.
