Formed in 1973 by Andy Partridge, Colin Moulding, Terry Chambers, and Barry Andrews, XTC signed with Virgin Records in 1977 and became popular for their unique pop sound in the New Wave movement of the time. In 1979, Dave Gregory joined the group following the departure of Barry Andrews, and in 1982, Terry Chambers left the group, leaving XTC as a three-piece. 1986's "Skylarking," produced by Todd Rundgren, was an international hit. However, the band is now virtually inactive, with only Andy Partridge remaining. Influenced by The Beatles, The Beach Boys, and psychedelic rock, XTC's sound is full of originality and has had a profound influence on Japanese musicians.With the release of the album "Drums And Wires" in August 1979, the band went on its first world tour, and the London show on September 17 was recorded and broadcast by BBC Radio. This album is a live album recorded at the time of the broadcast, and includes the complete concert including encores. The set list consists of songs from the early days of the band, including songs from their new album at the time, and it is an excellent live performance that fully conveys the charm of XTC!
