Formed in Greece in 1987 by brothers Sakis and Themis Tolis, the band is one of the earliest underground extreme music bands in southern Europe, including Greece. The band is one of the earliest underground extreme music bands in Southern Europe, including their home region. The band initially released demos in a grind-core style, but gradually developed a musical style closer to black metal, inspired by the likes of VENOM and CELTIC FROST. 13 albums were released in a 2-3 year interval after the release of their debut in 1993, with a disturbing name and a controversial reputation around the world. In 2014, the band visited Japan for a tour. The band has been updating their sound, incorporating doom/gothic/industrial elements with a black metal base, without losing their extreme nature. In their lyrics, they deal with evil and the occult, consistently pursuing the contradictions of religion. The disaster, as the name suggests, is consistent. This album is the latest in five years since their last album, The Heretics (2019).Produced by Sakis Tolis himself, the album pursues a gothic and symphonic worldview. It expresses a grandeur inspired by Pagan King. Two bonus tracks are included.
