The musical "The Bodyguard," a stage version of the 1992 hit movie starring Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston and currently attracting 4 million people in 11 countries around the world, is finally coming to Japan. There, it is the third album by British singer/actress Alexandra Burke, who plays the role of Rachel Marron, played by Whitney Houston in the film. This album was released in 2018 on the Decca label in the UK. The album features acoustic R&B-tinged numbers, sung majestically with deep vocals. It also includes a duet ballad number with Ronan Keating of Boyzone. The Japanese CD includes a bonus track, a duet cover of Whitney's "I Have Nothing" with Naoto Kaiho, who, like Alexandra, is popular as both an actor and a vocalist. Along with "Always Love You," "I Have Nothing" was a worldwide hit ballad from the movie "The Bodyguard" and was nominated for both a Grammy and an Academy Award for Best Song at the time. This time, a love call from Alexandra brought about a dream duet across the country.
