Description:

Fortepiano meets the Wandelweiser School of Music. Keiko Shichijo plays the excellent works of contemporary composer Jürg Frey! Keiko Shichijo is one of Japan's leading fortepiano players, based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where she has been developing her wide-ranging activities. Keiko Shichijo has already released recordings of Beethoven, Mozart, Satie, and other great composers whose names are etched in the history of music, both in recordings and concerts. She also has a great passion for the performance and introduction of "contemporary" music and art, as well as the great legacies from hundreds of years ago, and continues to further expand the possibilities of the fortepiano. The idea was born from the very interesting idea that "if we, who live in the present time, were not to go back in time to the time of the composer and the instrument (fortepiano), but if the instrument were to go back in time to our own time..." The recording of "Les Signes" composed by Jürg Frey was realized. Passagers - Fleeting Impressions" by Jürg Frey. Swiss composer Jürg Frey, known as one of the "Wandelweiser School" (said to have been inspired by the music of John Cage), which is characterized by redactionism and silence, composed "Les Signes Passagers - Fleeting Impressions" to realize the major theme of "successfully blending the spirit of a composer with the sound of the instrument itself. Les Signes Passagers - Fleeting Impressions" is a groundbreaking work written for performance on the fortepiano (period piano), a period instrument, rather than the modern piano. The recording session was held in the presence of the composer, and the ideal fusion of the fortepiano, which is classified as an ancient instrument, and the music of our time, including the hall's wonderful acoustics, was achieved. Ned McGowen's "Concerto for iPad and Orchestra" featured the iPad as soloist (!). The depth of his knowledge and enthusiasm for contemporary music is astonishing. Here comes a recording that will greatly expand the possibilities of the fortepiano and will be a great opportunity to transcend the borders of time and style. Tokyo M-Plus
