Shunsuke Sato, a violinist living in the Netherlands, recorded all of Beethoven's violin sonatas with his wife, pianist Sue-Ann Chai! The two, who played the "Kreutzer Sonata" together when they first met, and whose works have occupied a special place in their repertoire ever since, push the limits of what is possible in this sublime sonata. Note the sound of Auguste Bernardel's 1846 violin with gut strings and Michael Rosenberger's early 19th-century fortepiano.
