Following the previous recording of "Titans" (ARS38259S), which was the talk of the town for its incandescent and brilliant performance, ARS Produktion presents the second Mahler live recording of "Resurrection" by Adam Fischer and the Gustav Mahler Fest Kassel Festival Orchestra! Adam Fischer, who is regarded as one of the greatest Mahler conductors of our time thanks to his internationally acclaimed Mahler Cycle with the Düsseldorf Philharmonic Orchestra, has recorded a live performance of "Resurrection" at the Gustav Mahler Fest Kassel, a music festival he founded there during his tenure as General Music Director of the National Theater Kassel in Germany (1987-1992). The Gustav Mahler Fest Kassel was established as a permanent festival, but due to various circumstances, it was held only three times in 1989, 1991, and 1995 (with only one performance at St. Martin Church in 1993). An all-star cast of musicians from various German orchestras, including the Vienna Philharmonic and Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Staatskapelle Dresden, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Hungarian State Opera Orchestra, Concertgebouw Orchestra, and Kassel State Theater Orchestra, were under Adam Fischer's baton.
