Antonio Soler is known for his numerous sonatas for keyboard. Trained as a church musician and organist at the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, he became friends with musicians such as Domenico Scarlatti, who worked at the court of King Philip II. The sonata in this Op. 4 is lively and shows Scarlatti's influence, enhanced by the glittering ornamentation and virtuoso technique that are characteristic of Soler's work. Performed by Evgeny Konov, born in 1992 in Chirchik, Uzbekistan, Konov studied at the Gnesin State Conservatory of Music from 1999 to 2007, then at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, and studied in Europe; from 2019 he is studying at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.She has won many competition awards, including the 64th Maria Canals Barcelona International Music Competition in 2018, the 31st Ettore Pozzoli International Piano Competition in 2019, and the 14th UNISA (University of South Africa=University of South Africa) International He is a remarkable young player who won the first prize at the 31st Ettore Pozzoli International Piano Competition in 2019 and the 14th UNISA (University of South Africa) International Piano Competition in 2020, respectively.
