Meyerbeer (1791-1864) showed us some of his brilliant world in his ballet music collection (8573076). Although he was born in Berlin, he was mainly active in Paris, where he brought to Paris a fusion of the Italian opera style represented by Rossini and the German opera style established by Mozart and Weber, and was respected as a creator of sumptuous grand operas. The colorful orchestral sounds he created are said to have charmed even the young Wagner at the time. This album contains many of the "unsung parts" of his operas. Indeed, you can enjoy them to the fullest even without singing. I imagine that he would have been popular even if he had written symphonies and concertos.
