In 2025, Shani and the Rotterdam Philharmonic visited Japan to perform *From the New World*. Their passionate, high-energy performance was highly acclaimed across the country and left a vivid impression on Japanese audiences. This exhilarating performance, driven by Shani’s signature momentum, is filled with new discoveries and fresh energy. It represents the culmination of a deep tradition and a youthful, contemporary sensibility, as well as the intimate bond of trust between Shani and the orchestra. The album opens with the overture *Cyrano de Bergerac* by the Dutch composer Wagensaal. This piece, also performed in Japan, reveals influences from late Romantic composers such as Wagner and R. Strauss.
