This is the return of a much-talked-about work formerly released by Rice Records in 2004 at a very affordable price. Merjan Dede is a ney (reed flute) player who plays traditional Islamic mystic (Sufi) music. Based on traditional Turkish music, he is a musician with a unique musical style that passes through the filter of electronica and club jazz. He also performs under another name, "Alkin Allen," and his music has a stronger club flavor. In 2006, he visited Japan for the "Ramadan Night" event held at Shibuya bunkamura, where he collaborated with the swirling dance "Semaar. This work was overwhelmingly supported by club-oriented music fans. This album has not faded away at all even after listening to it now, and we are amazed at its advanced nature once again. (C)RS
