The cathedral is a place where the festive space of the old days is richly decorated with tasteful performances of ancient musical instruments. The relics, which are handed down as living proof of Jesus the Savior and the apostles, are important treasures that were considered essential when the cathedral was built. The Thursday following the Feast of the Holy Trinity in late spring and early summer is the day of the Eucharist, when the relics carefully kept in the cathedral are revealed as symbols of the Christian faith. The first Catholic festival was held in Valencia in the east of Spain. The Capella de Ministrellas, an ancient music group based in Valencia, eastern Spain, has examined in detail a number of manuscript and published scores from the late 17th and early 18th centuries. They have produced an album that virtually recreates in music the late baroque Valencian Eucharistic feast, which began with the bells and morning fanfares that heralded the feast day and was followed by numerous religious music plays (sacred history plays) and a procession of floats around the city. The album features five singers singing along with the attractive sounds of harp, gamba, organ, and theorbo, along with wind instruments such as chirimir (double reed instrument), trumpet, and sackbut (trombone), which play the wild and wonderful sounds of the festive march Passacaglia, a prototype of the court dance Passacaglia. The music is a rich and colorful musical picture scroll.In addition to the performance content that invites the listener to a true appreciation experience with engineering that clearly conveys the flavor of the sound of each part, the extensive liner notes (in Catalan, English, and Western languages) with detailed descriptions of each scene are also a real treat.
