Description:

The Trio Sola was formed in 2015 by three women from the Paris Conservatory. The name is taken from the Native American word for a bird that flies and sings, and the sound of the Japanese word for "sky" and the French word for "soeurs (sisters)" were also taken into consideration. This is the first album by the original members, Pauline Chenet and Angel Regasa, and new member Fanny Feodoroff, who joined the group in 2022, and whose last album, released in 2020, was Beethoven's complete piano trio (Naive). Their first album on La Dolce Volta is also a very ambitious one, and is a collection of Brahms' complete works. The girls, who spend a lot of time practicing, pay close attention to the structure of the works and pursue the phrasing, articulation, and meaning of the pieces thoroughly. Their performance was dynamic, yet beautifully sung in detail, with a flexibility that allowed them to see the piece as a whole.The horn trio, which uses a cello instead of a horn, and the quiet "Lullaby" are also included in the recording.
