Description:

[Valle Rotonda and Zuriyan. The light and darkness of the 17th century explored by two exceptional string players] Corbetta, a master of the Spanish-style guitar (baroque guitar), a private favorite of Louis XIV, the Sun King of France, was active across France and England. In the 1650s, he joined the celebrations of Louis XIV, and in the 1660s, during the Restoration of the monarchy, he was widely patronized in England by the new King Charles II and the leading aristocrats. Two collections of "The King's Guitar" (published in 1671 and 1674), dedicated to the English and French kings respectively, are still famous today as an important part of the baroque guitarist's repertoire, but Simone Vallerotonda, the leader of I Bassifondi, a group of talented Italian string players, has collected Corbetta's works dating back to the Italian period. Simone Vallerotonda, who presides over I Bassifondi, a group of gifted Italian string players, has assembled a comprehensive selection of Corbetta's works dating back to the Italian period, providing an overview of the composer's mastery. The guitar duet is the main instrument, but percussion and singing are also used in some pieces, as well as the corascione, a southern Italian folk instrument with a characteristic long neck, and the chitaravatente, which specializes in strumming. The guitar duo will be accompanied by a guitarist, a violinist, and a bassist. His partner for the guitar duo is the Slovenian virtuoso Boru Zulyan, who has attracted attention for his research on the lute dating back to the Middle Ages and for his wide range of playing styles. Together with Valle Rotonda, who makes full use of the fluidity of his sound while appropriately taking into account the background of the work, you will enjoy a fresh image of Corbetta that is different from the existing recordings, from the Italian style during Monteverdi's lifetime to the French style during Lully's heyday.
