With the release of his complete Bruckner symphony cycle, completed with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra over a period of 11 years, still fresh in our minds, Paavo Järvi has once again taken up the Bruckner Symphony No. 7. The timing of the re-recording is not too close, as the Seventh was Parvo's first Bruckner recording in the earlier cycle, which was made in November 2006. Comparing the recording time with the old one, all the movements are faster, especially in the second movement, the difference is almost 1 minute and 30 seconds, but the performance gives a rather romantic impression with clear musical contours. The music has a clear musical contour, but also a rather romantic feel. (C)RS
