Description:
A collection of works by Jewish Czech composer Hans Winterberg. He studied composition at the Prague Conservatory under Alois Hába, a well-known microtonal composer. He was active as a composer for opera houses and ensembles, mainly in Brno, but was interned in Theresienstadt in 1945. However, with the liberation of the camp on May 8 of the same year, he miraculously survived and moved to Germany in 1947 after the war. He composed several works during this period. Thereafter, he contributed to the development of the German music world while working as an editor for the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation and as a pedagogue at the Richard Strauss Music Academy. This album contains five works, including four world premiere recordings. You can enjoy energetic works in the tradition of 20th century masters such as Janacek, Ravel, and Schoenberg. As in the first collection, it is performed by Brigitte Helbig. Naxos Japan
