A collection of works for violin by Romanian-born composer Dan Dedu. Dedu, who studied at the Bucharest Conservatory and won the first prize in the composition category at the 1991 Georges Enesco International Competition, is known for his use of intense clusters and complex rhythms, but this album includes works using a process Dedu himself calls "hybridization," or cross-fertilization The album contains pieces that Dedieu himself calls "hybridization". This process of combining several pieces and transforming them into something completely new is most evident in the piece entitled "SonatOpera," which combines elements of Mozart's "Don Giovanni" and Richard Strauss's "Don Juan" and adds an avant-garde sound that creates a new appeal. The addition of avant-garde sounds gives the piece a new appeal. Both this piece and "A Mythological Bestiary" were composed for Irina Muresam, who also premiered them. Valentina Sandu-Dedu, the composer's wife and musicologist, plays the piano. She is a good friend of the work. Naxos Japan
