The soprano is Delia Agundez, from Caseras, Spain. A singer who has enjoyed remarkable success across Europe, particularly in the early music scene, her voice—which conveys poignant emotion with just the right touch—is a perfect fit for this theme. The instrumental accompaniment features an extremely small ensemble consisting solely of the viola da gamba played by Magnarel, the ensemble’s director, and the lute played by his close collaborator, Caces.
