Description:
Argentina's gifted Alarcon, who now has an immense presence in the world of European classical music, especially in the French-speaking countries, has recorded three sumptuous church music works by Lully, the greatest French composer of the 17th century. The latest recording is three sumptuous works of church music by Lully, the greatest French composer of the 17th century. The collaboration with the elite Namur Chamber Choir of Belgium, a group of talented musicians from time to time, and the talented instrumental group formed by Alarcon, is highly anticipated. The subtleties of Lully's style, which spun out a unique sound world by manipulating a rich and colorful musical language even in church under the reign of Louis XIV, will be carefully revealed by the five-part string orchestra using bass de violon instead of contrabass, a brass and percussion ensemble of the 17th century, and a chorus of appropriate size. The chorus is of an appropriate size. With Capella Mediterranea, Alarcon has been playing lively Mediterranean music with Latin players, while with the Millennium Orchestra, he has been playing exciting period pieces from the classical repertoire. He was familiar with 17th century Italian classical music, the "pre-history" of Lully, who was actually from Italy, and his approach to Catholic church music, including his masterpiece "Te Deum," is definitely noteworthy. The dynamism of the slow and fast movements and the thorough interpretation of details (note that Patrick Cohen-Aceninu, a leading scholar of French courtly string music, has been invited to play first chair in this recording) make this new Lully recording a recording not to be missed!
