Using footage from his mature years to his later years, the program offers a full appreciation of the master's deep technique, robust and powerful tone, and profound expression that evokes a high level of spirituality. In addition to his technique and expression, the film also includes a lesson in which he explains his attitude toward music with humor, a 20-member cello orchestra including his wife conducting one of his own compositions, chamber music with his family, a bent endpin he invented himself, and intimate rehearsals. The film is also a rare opportunity to see the entire family as accomplished musicians, including the violin of his eldest son, Jan Pascal, who is also a conductor as of 2018.
