Michael Blow is a Yorkshire-born pianist, composer, and lawyer. On this album, he performs the 24 Preludes himself, in the tradition of Chopin. The first phrase in B minor, which was improvised, has the role of stimulating the listener's imagination, and from then on all major and minor keys are used to overflow with rich melodies. Each piece, which is basically based on tonality, is familiar and has a sweetness in the style of late Romanticism by Rachmaninoff, Mettner, etc. Only one piece is considered "without tonality," and this is light music that seems to be a free arrangement of notes as one thinks of them.
