Description:

Geniuses whose skills as composers have been overlooked because of the presence of "famous compositions that bear their name" or their fame as great performers.... Pachelbel, Dorigo, and Gosek are good examples of the former, and Gobert, Enescu, and Rubinshtein are good examples of the latter, but Boccherini is both. While Boccherini was a rare virtuoso who dramatically increased the possibilities of solo cello playing, he also published a series of chamber and symphonic works that sold well, but only one of them became famous because of the unparalleled virtuosity of the Minuet from a certain string quintet. In recent years, however, baroque cellists have actively taken up the work, and thanks especially to the great cellists of each generation such as Birsma, Cowan, Hidemi Suzuki, and Najillo, its restoration seems to have progressed considerably. Here, the virtuoso Ceccato, who has played vigorous solos with the orchestras of Amandine Bayerre and Chiara Banchini, explores the world of chamber music with rare virtuosos. From works with flutes, which are rarely performed on ancient instruments, to a guitar quintet, a genre pioneered by Boccherini, and even a chamber concerto, each performance is a thrilling and sensitive masterpiece. The guitar quintet has a hint of the exoticism of his native Spain, and the flute piece has a lovely rococo feel.
