This is the same year as the debut album from Elektra, released on the Stax label, and is a soul-tinged backstage masterpiece! Delaney & Bonnie, a soulful white husband and wife duo who are closely related to Eric Clapton and Derek & The Dominos, released this album on Stax Records in 1969, the same year as their debut album on Elektra. While "The Original Delaney & Bonnie" (originally titled "Accept No Substitute"), released the same year on Elektra, is regarded as a masterpiece of American rock, this album is a work that should not be overlooked, even though it is not often mentioned. Recording members include Booker T. & the MGs and Bobby Whitlock.Produced by Donald Duck Dunn and Don Nix of the MGs, the sound of the album can best be described as a Southern-style rock and soul encounter, and the vocals of Delaney & Bonnie are energetic. The bonus track "We've Just Been Feeling Bad," a single released on Stax in 1968 and not included on the album, is also included. Includes obi commentary. Commentary: Hitoshi Kamishiro
