This is a simple, organic, yet vibrant, soulful song that imaginatively combines voice, handclaps, and body percussion. This is the second solo album by Farda Freddy, the leader of the Senegalese hip-hop unit "Darra J," which has gained solid international popularity since its breakthrough with 2003's "Boomerang," which also featured Rokia Traoré and China Moses. Nine years after "Gospel Journy," which was nominated for France's highest music award, "Victoire," Farda's new album sounds a warning against the problems of modern society, such as uniformity of thought, lack of contemplation, and dehumanization. The soulful and heartwarming voice of Farda, the pleasant harmonies, the rhythmic handclaps and body percussions, and the simple, yet powerful, sound of the new album are all part of the same theme. The appearance of this album is extremely simple, but the unexpressible flavor, depth, and emotion that overflows from every corner of the songs are heartwarming.The release is on the Think Zik! label, run by Malick Ndia, a French producer of Senegalese descent who discovered Ayo and Imani.
