Light music? Salon music? I don't know what it is, but this is a cult DIY indie-mellow AOR album by Italian SSW Joe Tosini on a minor US label at the end of the 80's. It has a perfect balance of cheap beat, casio tones, raw sound and 8-bit. The new Australian label Efficient Space has released a miracle dig! A release that will relax the whole world! Joe Tosini is an enigmatic singer/songwriter born in Sicily, Italy, and based in New Jersey, USA, after having lived in Germany and Canada. This is a reissue project of his rare album "Lady of Mine" released in 1989. Cheap rhythm box, crying guitar and emo songs, M(1) "If I Should Fall In Love" is a knockout in the first 5 seconds. The first three tracks, "If I Should Fall In Love" is a knockout, followed by "I'm In Love With An Angel" (M(2) and "Sincerita" (also a must-listen), a slow Italian song that blows you away to Sicily, and then you're in Joe's world.From there, the yuletide mellow M(4) "Sulla Luna" summons her to the other side... and the fake-filled young soul M(5) "Tomorrow May Never Come" (the percussive break in the middle part is also great!) M(6) "Lady Of Mine" invites her with a sweet saxophone like Kenny G's, and then M(7) "Wild Dream" is somehow encouraging without a shred of wild dream. But passionate and soulful. This is an eccentric genius with a sensibility similar to that of Cassiotone for the Pain Free Alone, Marker Sterling, or Ariel Pink. This is a great album, but it's not too early to start listening to it........
