Compilation of two 1965 works by Swingin' London icon Marianne Faithfull. Marianne Faithfull emerged in the glow of Swingin' London in 1965 and became an icon of the era with her clear voice and melancholy gaze. This collection includes two of her early works on one disc: "Marianne Faithfull," a collection of pop classics, and "Go Away from My World," with its warm, folksy feel. With Mike Reader's delicate arrangements and David Bailey's striking jacket, the voice and sensibility of a young woman come vividly to life. Marianne Faithfull" is a collection of sophisticated pop songs by producer Mike Reader and arrangers David Whitaker and John Mark. Recorded at Decca Studios and Lansdowne Studios, the skills of skilled engineers such as Peter Hitchcock and Gus Dudgeon highlight the clarity of the songs. The jackets were photographed by David Bailey and Jared Mankowitz to capture the atmosphere of the era. Go Away from My World, on the other hand, has a warm acoustic guitar-based sound. The selection of songs ranges from traditional folk songs to originals with a soft-rock edge. The album is composed with an eye on the American market, and it also has a hint of the British folk scene of the same era. This CD is a luxurious collection of the two CDs in their entirety. The sound and atmosphere of those days are preserved, bringing the brilliance of the young Marianne to the present day.
