Description:
Little, who grew up in an abandoned subway tunnel, has yet to see the night sky. A heart-wrenching love story of a mother and daughter living deep in the heart of N.Y. Inspired by the book "Molebito: New York Underground Lives," which depicts the love between a mother and her child living underground in New York City, this moving film has been acclaimed at numerous international film festivals. A community lives on the edge in a dark labyrinth-like space further beneath the N.Y. subway system. One day, city officials arrive to remove the illegal dwellers. Nikki decides that she cannot hide and get away with it, so she decides to escape to the surface with her 5-year-old daughter Little. Little is experiencing the outside world for the first time, and amidst the dazzling hustle and bustle, she searches the night sky for a star she hasn't seen yet. As they wander about the city, reaching for the stars, we can't take our eyes off them for a moment. This is the feature-length debut of a filmmaker whose short film attracted much attention at the Cannes International Film Festival. Celine Held and Logan George, who directed and wrote the screenplay for this film, made their feature debut with this film after their short film "Caloline" attracted attention at the Cannes Film Festival and SXSW Film Festival. Since then, they have participated in high-profile TV series such as "Modern Love" and "The Servant Turner's Babysitter. Next year, "The Vanishing at Caddo Lake," a thriller produced by M. Night Shyamalan, is scheduled for release, making him one of the hottest creators in the United States today. ◎Hit makers who fell in love with the talent of the new director produced the film!
