Description:
Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, an Italian composer of Jewish descent who was previously known only for some of his guitar works, began a revival of his works around the end of the 20th century, and his "Hollywood film music," interesting orchestral pieces, and songs, many of which he had written but had been overshadowed by Nino Rota, were gradually performed and recorded. However, the piano music that he was best known for, "The Piano," is now being performed and recorded more and more. However, his piano music (he himself was an excellent pianist), which was his forte, is still an unknown field. This album also includes two world premiere recordings of his two suites as well as a number of other interesting works. The pianist who gives a wonderful performance is Alfonso Soldano, a favorite pupil of Aldo Ciccolini. His previously released Bortkiewicz album is highly acclaimed. Naxos Japan
