Charles Keklan (1867-1950) is known in Japan solely as the author of the music for "The Jungle Book," but in fact he left behind a large number of compositions, including Op. 226, among which his chamber works with a tranquil and introspective atmosphere are known for their different flavor from Debussy and Poulenc. The chamber works are known for their serene and introspective atmosphere, and have been performed more and more often in recent years. The works by Kecklan are performed by Stefan Seely, principal oboist of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra since 1991, and his colleagues. From unaccompanied works to septets, the variety and intimacy of the sound is like looking at a stained glass window of sound, and it is a direct experience of the joy of listening to chamber music works.
