Piccinini also studied with the late Mr. Sakon Kaisuke and Mr. Shigeo Mito, as well as with Jung-Haenel and Hopkinson Smith, and participated in the BCJ. Piccinini served monarchs and aristocrats such as Alfonso II, and his music is known through two volumes of published scores in Bologna: "Tablatures for Lute and Chitarone, Volume 1" (1623), which celebrates its 400th anniversary in 2023, is a wonderful work in itself, but it is also a work of music for lute and chitarrone. It is also important because it contains an important preface on lute playing and other subjects (not only detailed and specific instructions on lute playing in Italy at that time, but also advice that applies to other instrumental music, and a description of the invention of the instrument by Piccinini, etc.). This is the 400th anniversary of the publication of Piccinini's first collection (1623). ＜Akiko Sato graduated from the Department of Musicology at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. While a student, she received lute lessons from the late Mr. Kisuke Sakon and Mr. Shigeo Mito. Studied under Konrad Junghener at the Cologne State University of Music in Germany, where she received a Soloist Diploma. Studied with Mr. Hopkinson Smith at the Schola Cantorum Basel in Switzerland, and was an assistant professor at the Department of Ancient Music, Faculty of Music, Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music until 2010. He studied Baroque guitar under Xavier Diaz-Latore at the Conservatorio Superior de Musica de Barcelona, Spain, as an overseas trainee for emerging artists with the Agency for Cultural Affairs. He produced the musical story "The John Dowland Story" (2009) as the first Taito City Arts and Culture Support Program project, which was well received. 2014 saw the release of his solo CD "Lullaby, Lute Music of the English Renaissance". He has organized a concert series performing works by Gilvius Leopold Weiss.He has appeared on NHK's TV program "La La La Classic" as a solo lute and bihuela player. As a bass continuo player, he has appeared in numerous ensembles with singers and instrumentalists, as well as in baroque operas.
