Alexander Krichel is a rising star pianist from Germany who is currently the focus of much attention in Europe; his first visit to Japan in 2015 was highly acclaimed for his limpid, lyrical playing, and he also performed successfully with Ensemble Kanazawa in January 2016. The second domestic release, following the 2015 release of "Spring Night," couples Rachmaninoff's most famous work, the Piano Concerto No. 2, with the virtuoso piece "Musical Moments," which was written just before the concerto. Rachmaninoff is a repertoire that Kricher has been playing with great care, as it is a direct descendant of his teacher Vladimir Klinev, and he performed it for Japanese music fans during his first visit to Japan in July 2015 with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra conducted by Taijiro Iimori. On this album, with his ideal partner, the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Michael Sanderlink, Klitschl brings us the essence of Russian pianism.
