Five years after the release of "Kanata," a collaboration with haruka nakamura, baobab has released its first album in eight years, "Kaze Tsuchi Uta," a long-awaited full-length album with an indigenous theme released on the occasion of baobab's 20th anniversary. The album was produced in response to the great response to the "Kaze Tsuchi Uta Tour" in 2023, and features a number of nostalgic and new melodies in the form of a band set sound. The album was recorded dynamically and delicately in one shot at an abandoned school gymnasium in Yamaka-cho, Oita Prefecture, baobab's home base, with the band members who created the sound after their live tour with the band in 2023. Since its inception, baobab, which has been active for 20 years, has been expressing its identity as a transmitter of expression from the countryside, music that exists alongside people's daily lives, and sound creation inspired by all kinds of nature. This work is a one-shot recording with a band, which lightly expresses the wind, the earth, and indigenous senses.Gen Tanabe joined as guitarist/recording engineer, Yudai Suzuki as horn section, Naoya Wada on bass, and former Kodo member Takeshi Maeda on taiko drums and Ryota Tanaka on percussion, creating an irregular/experimental band sound that became a new breeze and an album that created a new worldview.
