Description:

This is the first solo album by Reiri Yokoshima, a young and talented first violinist of the NHK Symphony Orchestra. This is a collection of arrangements of Bach and other Baroque music left behind by Wilhelmi, a master violinist of the late Romantic period who was known as the "second Paganini". The bowing during the long tone at the beginning of "Aria on the G string" is also worth listening to. Reiri Yokoshima 〈Violin〉 Born in Tokyo in 1991, Yokoshima began playing the violin at the age of five. She graduated from Toho Girls' High School of Music (coeducational) and Toho Gakuen School of Music. She won first prize at the 62nd All Japan Student Music Competition in Tokyo and the National Competition. She also received the Usatsuka Prize, the Togi Prize, and the Japan Broadcasting Corporation Prize. She has studied under Masafumi Hori, Ryoji Kubo, Yoshie Iida, and Reiko Kusano. Currently, he is the 1st Violin Assistant Seat of the NHK Symphony Orchestra. Hiroshi Yokoshima 〈Piano〉 Studied piano under Haruko Kataoka and others at the Talent Education Research Group. Completed graduate studies (composition) at Musashino Academia Musicae.Studied composition under Takeshi Ikemoto, Kunimitsu Takeuchi, and Tsuneya Tanabe. Studied piano under Rumiko Kishima and others. Won the Newcomer's Prize of the 5th Japan Contemporary Music Society. Selected for the 58th Japan Music Competition. Selected for the 7th Newcomer's Prize of the Contemporary Music Society of Japan. In 1990, he joined the founding of the composer group "TEMPUS NOVUM" and has been active in creative activities. Currently, he is a professor of the Faculty of Human Development and Culture at Fukushima University. He is the advisor and conductor of the Fukushima University Orchestra. He also conducts the orchestra to perform Mozart's unfinished works and compose complementary editions of his works.
