In the early 90's, ELEGY suddenly appeared in Japan from the Netherlands at the height of the metal movement, playing melodic power metal based music with a progressive flavor and odd time signatures backed by their advanced playing techniques. The band's smash hit single "I'm No Fool" was an instant hit in Japan, and the band's first three albums were followed by a series of singles, including "I'm No Fool," "I'm No Fool," "I'm No Fool," "I'm No Fool" and "I'm No Fool. Edward Hovinga, the vocalist for the first three albums, left the band, and Ian Parry joined as the second vocalist. His first album after joining the band was "State Of Mind." The addition of Ian's expressive vocals expanded the range of the band's work, and the album became their breakthrough and masterpiece. The band continued to play and released several albums, but gradually slowed down when Henk Van der Laars, the main songwriter of the band, left the band. After the release of "Principles Of Pain" (2002), the band went on hiatus.In 2023, after more than 20 years had passed and the band had faded from people's memories, a reunion and tour with the band members in their prime, including Henk, was suddenly announced and became a hot topic. The reissue was remastered and the sound quality was improved. The release also includes a bonus track. In October, the band will be touring Japan for the first time since 1997, and it is inevitable that they will perform songs from this album, which includes some of their best-known songs. We hope you will take this opportunity to enjoy this immortal masterpiece again as a commemorative album of their visit to Japan.
