Flutist Atsuko Koga's third CD for GENUIN is a collection of rare works with cello! This is the third CD for GENUIN by Atsuko Koga on flute and Georgi Lomakov on cello, the previous two being GEN 14306 (a collection of flute trios) and GEN 15348. Eugène Boza's first collection of contrasts is essentially for flute and bassoon. Telemann's Canon-like Sonata is usually played by two flutes, two violins, or a flute and a violin, etc. Minako Tokuyama's "The Life of a Butterfly" is a piano piece arranged by the composer herself for solo flute. Koga performed it for the first time in the world and Japan, and this is the first recording. Both Koga and Romakov have extremely beautiful tones, which intertwine exquisitely, and the melodies of both pieces are smooth and fragrant. Atsuko Koga was born in Fukuoka, Japan. She graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris with first prize in the flute department. She has been a member of the Magdeburg Philharmonic Orchestra since 2001. Georgy Lomakov was born in Odessa, the capital of Ukraine.He began studying the cello at the age of 6 and moved to Germany at the age of 13.
